A handcrafted glass instrument with an ethereal tone, inspired by the Jubal Flute and Ivory Wind, Crystal Flute combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology for exceptional expressivity. With full control over dynamics, air noise, and modeled vibrato, you can shape your sound freely without the limitations of static samples. Recorded in stereo at a close-mic position, Crystal Flute fits easily into any mix, offering both a natural sound and the option to use the included Stage ambiance.
Meticulously capturing every interval transition within an octave, the instrument features two Legato articulations—Slur and Slide—as well as Staccato samples for sharp, precise notes. The result is a beautifully expressive flute, perfect for adding depth and magic to your music.
We recorded every note transition within an octave for 2 Legato styles: Slur and Slide. The result is that you hear an actual performance when transitioning between connected notes.
Through a process of separating the air nose inherent in close-mic flute recordings, you can control the balance of tone and noise of the instrument in real time. This is great for getting a clean, pure sound – or ride the knob for added expression!
Vibrato was specifically designed for the Crystal Flute modeled off real vibrato source-recordings. The result is an organic and fully controllable vibrato behavior that allows you to perform with emotion, without the limitations of pre-recorded samples.
No crossfading – no problem! Dynamics can seamlessly sweep between quiet and loud thanks to the modeled dynamics engine, and in conjunction with our Air Noise Control feature – automatically regulating air noise depending on how loud you are playing.
The Crystal Flute uses our innovative Legato script, which adjusts the speed of the Legato transition in response to your performance. The result is a super fluid and responsive action with a huge range of detail that has never been achievable before.
